Français 8, mardi, le 17iéme janvier

In French 8 today we continued with review, in particular, ir verbs and indefinite articles.  Tomorrow there will be a quiz and the written test is on Monday.  Tuesday will be the conversations evaluation and assignment make -up. 

Français 9, mardi, le 17iéme janvier

In French 9 today we talked out due dates and test elements.  Then we went to the lab to work on the indigenous projects.  This paper is due next week by Friday.  Tomorrow there will be a quiz re-write opportunity for any students wanting to improve their mark.  Also due next week is the Carnaval booklet.  The written test will be on Thursday and on Friday will be a conversations evaluations/make up day.

We have begun our review and today we went over the format of the written final.  We also practiced for the conversations final.  There will be a verb test rewrite for any one needing on Friday.  French settler paper due Thursday of next week.  Hochlaga movie assignment also due currnetly.

We have officially begun our review for the final evaluations.   All students should have study guides now and be formulating strategies regarding study.    Verb test on ir verbs is on Friday.  Final written test is on Monday.  Conversations test and make up work will be on Tuesday.  Bon chance!

In French 8 today we handed back our oir ver quizzes and we introduced 4 ir verbs:  rougir, remplir, choisir and obéir.   I also handed out the questions for the conversations test next week.

Monday, January 21st, final written test
Tuesday, January 22nd - final conversations test, make up assignment day, course ends. 

Français 9, lundi, le 14iéme janvier

In French 9 today we wrote a quiz on verbs in the imparfait tense.  Some students will need to review this.  Students received the conversations test questions today.  We also finished the movie Hochlaga and the movie sheet was assigned.  The important dates to remember are as follows:
January 24 - final written exam
January 25th - final conversations test.  end of term.  All assignments, etc should now be completed.

Français 8, mardi, le 8ième janvier

In French 8 yesterday, we continued work on oir verbs.  There will be a quiz on the following verbs on Friday:  devoir, pouvoir, vouloir and savoir.  Students should know how to conjugate these verbs in both the affirmatif and negatif forms.  These verbs are conjugated in the back of the text book and on line.   We also watched a film on Carnival and practiced some dialogue for our conversations final test. 

Français 9, mercredi, le 9iéme janvier

In French 9 today we continued work on des adjectifs démonstratifs.  Ce, cette, cet, ces as well as çi and là.  We are also getting more familiar on how to identify a masculine noun from a feminine noun.   We also reviewed verbs in the imparfait tense.  There will be a quiz on these verbs on Monday next.  We also have begun our short unit  on the settlement of new France.  Yesterday, we started our booklet on Carnival which is a look in to the culture of Quebec.  The final exam is in two weeks.

Today we began the food unit presentations.  We will continue them tomorrow.  The Christmas booklet assignment is due by Friday, or earlier if students do not plan to be present that day.

Today we began the music unit presentations.  We will continue them on Thursday.  The Ritchie Valens take some assignment is past due.  The Christmas booklet assignment is due by Friday.

We spent todays class editing the presentations that are due tomorrow.   Past due is the Ritchie Valens take home sheet and currently due it the Christmas assignment.

In French today we wrote our re verb quiz and worked on presentations.  The scripts were due today and the presentations will be due tomorrow.  Bonne chance.

In French 8 today,  we had a pre-test for the re test on Monday.  The presentation is due on Tuesday, as are the scripts,  and there will be some more time to work on it on Monday.   Bon weekend à tous!

Français 9, vendredi, le 14 décembre

In French 9 today,  the take home quiz was due.  The Dr Mrs Vandertramp posters are past due.  Also, today the Christmas assignment was handed out which is due by Friday next week.  We also did some practice on Dr. Mrs Vandertamp verb concepts.  The presentation is due on Tuesday and there will be some more time to work on it on Monday.  Bon weekend à tous!

Today in French 9 we worked on our presentations which are due on Tuesday.  The take home reading test (Ritchie Valens) is due tomorrow, Friday.  Try to avoid late marks.

In French 9 yesterday, marked the quizzes and reviewed the verb sheets form last day that used être and avoir in the passé.  We also spent time working on the Dr Mrs Vandertramp posters which are due today.  Also a take home test was assigned.   (Ritchie Valens)

Français 8, Tuesday, December 11th, 2019

In French 8 yesterday, we practiced re verbs by writing on the board and completing some sheets.  We also learned somethings about Kwanza as part of our celebration unit.   Finally we completed and unit sheet and started work on our Christmas booklets.  Recipe cards were due today.
Today in French we will be continuing practice on re verbs, more unit sheets and will do an activity to re-enforce vocabulary at the end of block.  Important due dates are as follows:
-recipe cards were due yesterday.
-re verb quiz is on Friday
-scripts for presentations due Monday, end of class
-videos of food presentation due Tuesday.  If there are technical challenges at home regarding filming, this presentation may also be done in front of the class using props.

Today in French 8 we completed worksheets from the unit that reviewed verbs in the infinitive form as well as the conjugated form.  These sheets need to be complete for Monday.  We also reviewed 're' conjugations.

Today in French 9 we completed our Dr Mrs Vandertramp quiz.  We will be reviewing and marking this quiz on Monday.    We also completed two worksheets on both passé compose verbs using être and avoir.  These should be complete for Monday.

There was an avalanche safety course today during this block so no French was completed.  The next class will be on Thursday.  Any students that missed the 'er' quiz last week need to write it asap.
