Français 9,vendredi le 30, novembre

In French 9 we worked on some handouts.  One of the sheets was assigned as homwork (interview sheet)  There will be a pre-quiz on Dr Mrs Vandertramp verbs Monday.  For the reminder of the quiz we worked on presentations.  Bon weekend a tous!

Français 8,vendredi le 30, novembre

In French 8 we completed a quiz then some unit sheets.  Pages 65,66,67 part A, and 68 Part B.  We spent the remainder of the class working on Recipe cards.  There was no homework assigned.  Bon weekend a tous!

Français 8, jeudi le 29, novembre

Today in French we completed a great deal of material that related to the final food unit objectives.  We learned the proper use of infinitive verbs when making recipe cards.  We learned what du, de, de la means and how to use it in negative forms.  We learned new verbs such as mettre, prendre, choiser, couper, etc. We began work on our recipe cards by sourcing ingredients.   This project is due in approx 2.5 weeks.   Also, there is a verb quiz tomorrow on the second half of phase two er verbs.

In French 9 we did some review on passé composé verbs using être.  The last page in the handout is due for homework next class.  We also introduced a new use of the definite article.  For example: J'aime les Canadiens  = je les aime   Sheets were completed in class and no more homework was assigned.

Today in French 8 we practiced numbers by playing a loterie game, as well as practice on Duolingo.  Most students were away due to a band rehearsal, so our next class will be fairly intense as we will cover a great deal of info to make up for the lost time.  I will be checking homework from the last class next time we meet. 

Français 9, vendredi, le 23, novembre

In French 9 today, we completed partie B, page 108 and partie C, page 109.  These are oral activities and are best done in class, however, page 109 can be accomplished at home by searching for the songs listed on youtube.  Anyone away yesterday will have to do their verb quiz passé composé on Monday.   Bon weekend à tous.

Français 8, vendredi, le 23, novembre

Today in French we read over Les Festivals de nourriture, livre pages 62,63.  Once we read those pages, we completed page 59 in the cahier.  (workbook unit sheet)) We finished the class with some Duolingo in the computer lab.  There was no official homework assigned, but pg 59 should be complete, as we will do a follow-up exercise on this on Monday.  Also, next week we will have a verb quiz on the second half of er verbs, (phase two.)  Bon weekend à tous! 

Français 9, mardi, le 22, novembre

In French 9 today we completed some unit work sheets on Superlatives.  We also completed our passé composé quiz and began research for our unité presentation.  Finally, we spent a half hour on Duolingo.  For term two, Duolingo needs to be done outside the class at least twice a week to get full Participation marks.  A demain.

Français 8, mercredi, le 21, novembre

In French today we handed back all evaluations from the past 10 days.  Students are required to keep these in their cahier in case parents want to monitor how they are doing.   We continued in our celebrations unit by discussing elements regarding a Pow Wow, The Réveillon and especially Diwali.  We also completed an activity using the new unit vocabulary.   There will be a quiz next week on the second half of verb sheet phase two.  Class meets again on Friday. 

Français 9, mardi, le 20, novembre

Today in French 9 we completed a pre-test for the verb quiz scheduled for this Thursday in the passé form using ir, er, and re verbs.   We also completed some conversational tasks from the unit.  There was no homework assigned today, other than quiz study, but some students still have not turned in their homework sheet from last day regarding the Plains of Abraham.   A late assignment mark is better than no mark at all, please get them in.  French 9 doesn't meet again until Thursday.  à bientôt.

Français 8, mardi, le 20, novembre

In French 8 today, we completed a quiz on er verb conjugations and also went over some unit material.  The Thanksgiving/Halloween page that we did in class will not be taken in for homework, but all work sheets should be completed for full participation marks at the end of term.

Français 8, vendredi, le 15, novembre

Today we finished our unit on friendship and will begin a new unit next week.  We also worked on our er verb drawing assignment.   The er verb drawing is due on Monday for full marks.    On Tuesday we will be doing our er verb quiz from phase two.  Bon weekend a tous!

Français 9, vendredi, le 16, novembre

In French 9 we continued to discuss passé composé concepts and completed a sheet in the new unit.  Cahier page 102 partie B, which should be complete for Monday.  The homework;  Pour Aller Plus Loin was due today for full marks.  Student away today will be responsible for it on Monday for full marks.  There will be a verb quiz on regular passé verbs on  Thursday next.   Bon weekend a tous!

Français 9, vendredi, le 15, novembre

Today was an important day in regards to verb tenses.  Any student who was absent needs to get caught up asap.  We introduced verbs using the passé composé form.  We completed some worksheets based on these concepts.  We also reviewed de, de la, des, and de grammar uses.   Last, we started on our new unit, which is focussed on the topic of music.  There is also a new seating arrangement for the class which will be in effect for the next three weeks at least.  The homework sheet handed out on Tuesday, is due tomorrow.

In French 9 today, we completed some unit listening activities.    For the last 20 minutes, we worked on our unit presentations which are due Wednesday, but some students will be presenting tomorrow as per their own preference.  These presentations serve as a big part of the mid-term evaluation and everyone should make sure their, content, pronunciation and grammar is correct. before presenting  Each student is equipped with a checklist to make sure they don't miss anything.  Bonne chance.

Today in French 8, we worked on some 'er' verb concepts and completed a few work sheets.  These sheets should be done for Monday.  We also reviewed numbers from 1 to 50 playing a loto activity.  There was no homework assigned but there the presentation is next week and this is am important part of the mid term mark.  Students should be ready to present for November 6th.  Bon weekend à tous!
